Billing
What Planline costs, how you're charged, and how to change or cancel.
Prices
Every plan is billed once a year, in New Zealand dollars. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay.
| Plan | Who it's for | Per year |
|---|---|---|
| Individual | One teacher | $39.95 |
| School, up to 5 | You and up to 4 colleagues | $129 |
| School, up to 10 | You and up to 9 colleagues | $199 |
| School, up to 20 | You and up to 19 colleagues | $349 |
| School, up to 30 | You and up to 29 colleagues | $449 |
Founding price
Subscribe to Individual before the end of 2027 and your first year is $29.95. It renews at the standard $39.95. The founding price is applied at checkout for you, so there's no code to enter.
Codes
If you've been given a code, choose Individual and enter it in Have a code? before you continue to payment. A code replaces the founding price rather than adding to it. Codes can't be used on school plans.
Free trial
Every account starts with 30 days free, with no card needed and nothing to cancel. We'll email you a few days before your trial ends. If it ends without a subscription, nothing is deleted: your planning becomes read-only, and you can still open, print, export and back up everything. Subscribe at any time and saving starts again straight away.
Paying
Choose Subscribe in Planline, pick a plan, and pay by card through Stripe, our payment provider. Planline never sees or stores your card number. We don't send invoices or take bank transfers.
Your subscription renews automatically each year on the date you subscribed. We email you a reminder 7 days before each renewal, and a receipt when it goes through. Past invoices are under Account → Manage subscription.
Changing your plan
Go to Account → Change plan, for example to move from Individual to a school plan.
- Moving up: you're charged the difference for the rest of your current year straight away, and the new plan starts once that payment goes through. After that it renews at the new plan's price.
- Moving down: the unused part of your year comes off your next renewal. On a smaller school plan, if you have more colleagues than seats, the most recently added lose access until you remove someone.
Your planning stays exactly where it is whichever way you move.
School plans and seats
The person who pays for a school plan takes one seat and adds colleagues' email addresses under Account → School teachers. Colleagues sign in with their own address and keep their own planning. You can remove someone and give the seat to someone else at any time. When someone is removed, they keep their planning; it becomes read-only unless they're still in their own free trial or subscribe themselves.
Cancelling
Cancel any time under Account → Manage subscription. Your subscription won't renew, and you keep full access until the end of the year you've already paid for. After that your planning becomes read-only, never deleted, so you can come back whenever you like. Colleagues on a cancelled school plan become read-only at the same time.
If a payment fails
We email you straight away with a link to update your card, and the payment may be retried automatically over the following days. While the payment is outstanding your planning is read-only, but nothing is lost. Update your card under Account → Manage subscription and saving starts again.
Refunds
Because you can try Planline with the no-card free trial before paying anything, we don't offer refunds for subscription payments. You can cancel any time to stop future renewals.
The exception is moving to a smaller plan, described under Changing your plan: the unused part of your year is credited automatically and comes off your next renewal.
If you've been charged in error, email apps.southam@gmail.com and we'll put it right.
None of this affects your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993. If Planline is faulty or not as described, contact us and we'll put it right, including a refund where the Act requires.
